About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Consultant to lead and manage social media efforts for one of our key clients. This consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing impactful social media campaigns centered on mental health and substance use. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be responsive and flexible in meeting with clients, and be enthusiastic about creating engaging content and visual materials that amplify public health messaging.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and execute social media strategies and campaigns aligned with the client’s goals
· Create original content (graphics, posts, stories, reels) with a focus on mental health and substance use awareness
· Collaborate with the client regularly via virtual meetings; in-person meetings on Long Island are a plus
· Ensure all content is visually compelling, culturally appropriate, and aligned with messaging goals
· Monitor and respond to engagement on social media platforms
· Assist with related tasks including website design oversight and mobile app coordination
· Contribute to the creation and formatting of presentations and reports
· Support visual storytelling and report formatting using tools like Canva or Adobe
· Provide support for other consulting projects as needed
Preferred Qualifications
· Proven experience in social media management, preferably in health or nonprofit sectors
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
· Ability to meet with the client as needed (virtually; Long Island-based candidates a plus)
· Spanish fluency is a strong plus
· Graphic design and basic website editing skills
· Experience with presentation tools (PowerPoint, Google Slides) and report formatting
· Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project needs
· Interest in growing with the organization and taking on additional responsibilities
